Katie grew up in Ontario,
Canada and was known as
the “athletic girl” in her high
school as she was the
quarterback of her Flag
Football team, captain of
her Volleyball, Lacrosse
and Slo Pitch team as well
as a member of the
badminton team. In her four
years in high school, she
was awarded Athlete of the
Year two years in a row and
outside of high school her
passion and determination
in the game of softball landed her a scholarship to Chattanooga State
Community College in Tennessee following her high school graduation.
Starting two years at second base winning All-Conference NJCAA and
TCCAA awards in the classroom and on the field and a trip to the NJCAA
National Championship in Utah she earned a second scholarship to
continue her softball and academic career at University of the
Cumberlands. Due to Covid, Katie was gifted an extra year of eligibility
and continued to be a starter on the field for her final collegiate years for
a combined five years playing collegiate softball. During her time at
Cumberlands she was awarded Second-Team All-Conference, named a
Golden Glover in the NAIA Mid-South Conference, and named the Mid-
South Champion of Character. Each year at Cumberlands her efforts
were also awarded in the classroom making the Daktronics NAIA
Scholar Athletes list three times and upon graduation received the J.T.
Vallandingham Scholars medal for high honors in the classroom and
awarded Outstanding French Senior. Katie Graduated with her
Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.
